Venue: The Village Green Commons

Blessing of The Animals is a tradition started by the Church of The Good Shepherd. Cashiers area churches will observe this annual event at 11am on September 30th, rain or shine at The Village Green Commons Lawn. Please bring a chair or blanket to enjoy music and prayer in celebration of all God's creatures, big and small. All animals are welcome, as long as they are appropriately leashed or crated. Each animal will receive a special blessing.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the Cashiers Highlands Humane Society. Besides monetary gifts, items such as blanket, milkbones, unscented cat litter, and canned dog or cat food are welcome, and always needed. The tradition of animal or pet blessings is in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all of God's creatures.
