Winter workshop on tree and bud identification

Venue: Oconee Bell Chapter of the North Carolina Native Plant Society
Do you want to identify native trees and their buds in the winter? If so, please “register” to receive an email confirmation with links to resources.
The Oconee Bell Chapter of the NC Native Plant Society invites the public to meet Transylvania County Master Gardener, Carrie Blair, who will bring to this free workshop a long list of tree field guides (beginner to advanced) that she recommends, and she will have many of these books with her on display.
Plan ahead, as participants are encouraged to bring twigs, live (recently cut), at least 1 foot long terminal branches, perhaps with leaves or fruit, including leaf scars and buds.
If you have them you may want to bring your own tree identification books, a hand lens, or binoculars.
Carrie will have many of her recommended tree identification books, used and new, for sale at the Sapphire Post Office parking lot after this event.
This workshop is free and open to the public, but classroom space is limited to the first 28 who "Register" at
https://northcarolinanativeplantsociety.wildapricot.org/event-5995874
If the workshop fills, there will be a waiting list.
