Friends of panthertown 2025 bioblitz - the panthertown bog hike

 

 

About the hike: Join David Siripoonsup, North Carolina Natural Heritage Program Special Projects Botanist, and Friends of Panthertown on this bog outing. The hike participants will be led into the Panthertown Bog, a rare and unique high elevation fen. Because of the delicate nature of this hike, there is a low number of participants. If you RSVP, you need to be prepared to get mucky and wet on this hike. This hike will be a fun and informative excursion into Panthertown, and will also provide data to our iNaturalist species list that will inform management decisions, scientific studies, and the public for years to come.

 

About your guide: David Siripoonsup works for the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program as a Special Projects Botanist focusing on conserving the biodiversity in the state.

 

Limited space will be available. We ask that you prioritize which hikes you would like to participate in. Please limit the number of hikes you sign up for to no more than 2 per person so that more people may experience this program.
