CANCELLED: Annie Moses Band: Rhapsody In Bluegrass & Prodigy On A Mission

Arts & Entertainment
Date: Friday, July 24, 2020 07:30 PM - 09:30 PM

Venue: Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts

The story of the Annie Moses Band began in a cotton field in North Texas during the Great Depression. Annie Moses, the band’s great grandmother, picked cotton for a wealthy landowner and scrimped and saved to pay for a few piano lessons for her daughter, Jane. Flash forward to now with the creation of the Annie Moses Band, whose eclectic sound reflected the family’s unique blend of roots music and classical polish. In 2010 they founded the non-profit Annie Moses Foundation, which nurtures the artistic development of families and supports the annual Summer Music Festival featuring dozens of aspiring young performers. This event brings the Summer Music Festival to stages across the south allowing the students to display their amazing talents alongside the Annie Moses Band.
