Hike – Bountiful Botany: Medicinal Plants of the Plateau
Venue: Brushy Face Preserve
In our program, Bountiful Botany: Medicinal Plants of the Plateau, the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust will be leading a guided-hike focused on the native medicinal plants of the region at our Brushy Face Preserve property.
We will have two limited-capacity, guided hikes on June 5th. They will be at 10am and 1pm, free to the public. However, space is limited so registration is required by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We will walk the trail together, stopping to discuss the plants that are covered in the self-guided hike. We will also cover other plants on the property and the land use history of the area.
This hike is appropriate for all ages, and a good opportunity for children to learn while school is out. This program will also be in the form of a signed, self-guided hike, up for the month of June. Join us on June 5th or feel free to come and enjoy the self-guided hike at your own pace any day of the month. With the help of the International Friendship Center and funding from Environmental Educators of North Carolina (EENC), the signs will be in both English and Spanish.
The Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust conserves property around the plateau which provides habitat for native plants and animals such as these medicinal plants.
