Panthertown Hike to Blackrock Overlook & Granny Burrell Falls

Friends of Panthertown will be leading a socially distanced guided group hike this Saturday, June 12 in Panthertown Valley. There are still a few spots remaining for this popular hike.

The group will be led by Virginia Guilfoile, an experienced hiker and Friends of Panthertown volunteer.
Weather permitting, we will be hiking about 5 miles on well maintained but rugged trails. Some hiking experience is recommended. The group will hike up and over Blackrock Mountain to the Blackrock Overlook, then back down into the valley for a visit to Granny Burrell Falls.
Group size is limited. RSVP required. We will be following CDC and health department guidelines for outdoor activities.
Weather permitting, the group will meet at 9:30 am on Saturday at the trailhead kiosk in the parking area at the Salt Rock Gap entrance to Panthertown (located at the end of Breedlove Road in Cashiers). We expect to be back to the parking area around 1-1:30 pm. There will be plenty of time remaining in the afternoon to continue exploring Panthertown.
Please bring water, snacks, and a lunch to enjoy. In the event of rain, the hike will be rescheduled. Hikers who have signed up will be notified if plans change due to weather conditions.
This hike is free. Donations are appreciated. Families with children are welcome. Contact us with any questions.
