Working on both cotton sheeting, and cotton scarves allows students to experiment with both graphic and pictorial images. The class will be limited to 8 students so there is plenty of individual attention. Participants will explore various tools and methods for building multiple layers of hot wax and dyes to cotton, techniques for mixing dyes and dying fabrics. By class completion each participant will have finished at least one art batik as well as a scarf.
